Meet the artist: Dave Sheehan

I hold a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech. In my career with the USDA Forest Service and National Park Service, I've designed many kinds of functional landscapes and become intimately familiar with the ecological processes that shape our incredible ecosystems. I have designed recreational landscapes from Puerto Rico to Alaska, been the resident landscape architect for the Blue Ridge Parkway, and am currently the landscape architect for Shenandoah National Park.

What I Do

I strive to reestablish or reinforce connection to natural systems. Through traditional construction methods, locally sourced native materials, and careful attention to landscape character, I create functional and wholly unique places that seamlessly fit their environment. As a proud Marine combat veteran, I understand and have myself experienced the powerful role landscapes can have in relating to, living with, and growing from traumatic stress. I want to help you transform your space into what it is meant to be; a place for you and yours to come together in peace.
